Background In the liberalised
insurance market, training of the agents has acquired critical importance.
On the one hand, the IRDA regulations stipulate a minimum training
programme before recruitment and renewal of licence. On the other hand,
the competitive market compels insurer to equip the field workers with
relevant information and skills to improve productivity. Hence, the role
