P283 – DATABASE ADMINISTRATION – ORACLE

Background:

Oracle Database Administration provides database administrators (DBA) with the necessary knowledge base and skill set to install, maintain and troubleshoot Oracle DATABSE. a Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) manages the real world things (entities) in the form of database objects. Hence, proper management of database is necessary. In this training program, DBAs will gain a thorough conceptual understanding of the Oracle database Architecture, Recoverability, Integrity, Security, Performance, Development and Testing, Backup and Recovery and apply these concepts through structured practical exercises. 

 

Objectives

At the end of this module the participants will able to create and manage database users implement a security system to control their activities, define a backup strategy and perform recovery in the event of a system failure and tune the database to optimize performance.

 

Contents

·   Installing Oracle software

·   Creating Oracle databases

·   Performing upgrades of the database and software to new release levels

·   Starting up and shutting down the database

·   Managing the database's storage structures

·   Managing users and security

·   Managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views

·   Making database backups and performing recovery when necessary

·   Proactively monitoring the database's health and taking preventive or corrective action as required

·   Monitoring and tuning performance

 

Pre-Requisite Skills

Participants should have a good knowledge of their operating system, SQL*PLUS and PL/SQL.

 

Participants Profile :  

AO, Asst. Manager, Dy. Manager, Manager and Chief Manager from IT Department of  Head Office,  Regional Office, Divisional Office , Branch Office and Training Centers.

Note: Prior knowledge of  Oracle/SQL is essential
