P326 – PROGRAMME ON ORACLE 9i ADMINISTRATION (MODULE 3)

(COMPANY SPECIFIC PROGRAMME FOR L.I.C. OF INDIA)

 

Background:

Oracle Database Administration provides database administrators with the necessary knowledge-base and skill-set to install, maintain and troubleshoot Oracle 9i. Participants  will use Oracle administration tools to start up and shut down a database, create a database, manage database storage, manage database security and apply advanced architecture solutions. DBAs / System Administrators will gain a thorough understanding of the Oracle database architecture and apply concepts through structured lab exercises. This programme includes a discussion of the database's architecture and describes the steps in which connections are established between a client and server. Participants  will learn how to implement a basic connection using the network configuration assistant between a client and server node using various naming methods, such as local and host. The different troubleshooting tools used to determine network problems and security risks also are presented.

 

Objectives

At the end of this programme, the participants will able to create and manage database users, implement a security system to control their activities, define a backup strategy and perform recovery in the event of a system failure and tune the database to optimize performance.

Participants Profile :  

Selected AAO (Prog), AO, Asst. Secretary, Secretary and Manager of IT Department from Central Office, Zonal Office, Divisional Office , Branch Office and Training Centers Officers / Executives from other departments  should have the basic knowledge of  RDBMS & SQL

Note: Completion of Module 1 & 2 desirable.
