Time present and time past

Are both perhaps present in time future

And time future contained in time past.

                                                T.S. Eliot

In this continuum of time we, at NIA, are trying to create a watershed.  Globally, and more so in our country, Insurance is possibly the most happening industry and NIA has the unique advantage of being the hub of every single strategic intervention in Insurance.

“Except for the point, the still point,

there would be no dance”--  T.S.Eliot

This unique strategic positioning of NIA has been reinforced by its visionary founders through a tripod model for resourcing the Faculty and Research Associates.  This, coupled with its world-class infrastructure and the vision of our present Director, makes NIA the most happening place for the most happening industry.

With full appreciation of the onus and rigour that the expectations of the industry place on us, we have approached the task of finalizing this year’s Calendar of training activities with a simple mission-- to integrate the three components of training i.e. the Training Institute, the Trainees and the Sponsoring Organisations.  Our conviction is that only this approach can improve the design, the delivery and the effectiveness of our programmes.

A Research Paper on participant feedback and Transfer of Learning prepared by our colleagues at NIA at the instance of our Governing Board has given us another road-map. The entire calendar has been redesigned by us in the light of the findings of the Research Paper and further modified as per the expectations of the sponsor organizations.

All this gives me the confidence to claim that the programmes designed for 2007-08 will be more focused and add greater value.

The quality of output depends on the concern and care that go into the selection of `input’ and the design of `throughput’.

I only hope and expect that our sponsoring organizations will help us in improving the quality of our programmes further by nominating appropriate participants in adequate number-well in time.  In fine, I reconfirm the Academy’s commitment to champion and further  the cause of providing holistic learning to insurance executives.
