P218 EXECUTIVE
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (Exclusively for LIC of India) Background The
Programme for Young Executives from Life Insurance Corporation of India is
targeted at junior level Officers within 40 years of age. The duration of
this programme is 3 weeks and normally 4 such programmes are conducted in
a year. On an average each batch comprises of 24 officers who are given
training in various aspects of general management as also in different
technical aspects relating to life insurance business. The participants
also get an opportunity to interact with top officials from the Corporate
Office with inputs on latest developments and management thinking. It
was felt that after the participants have undergone this comprehensive
training it would be useful to have an advanced course for them by way of
providing reinforcement as also for assessing the level of assimilation
and effectiveness. The purpose of such a course would be served if
officers who have attended PYE within last two years are nominated. The
methodology adopted for this programme will be more interactive with
workshops, case studies, group discussions or presentations etc. rather
than class-room lectures. Practical applications of soft skills will be
assessed and reviewed. Objectives
At the end of this
refresher course the participants will be able to: Internalize the
various concepts relating to HRM and Marketing covered in the PYE programme. Identify modern
trends and developments. Scan the
business environment with a view to identify appropriate strategies for
the competitive
environment and plan for better growth. Strategize to
raise productivity and response levels of team members in the office and
in the field. Establish
