P327 – PROGRAMME ON INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING IN JAVA

(COMPANY SPECIFIC PROGRAMME FOR L.I.C. OF INDIA)

 

Background:

 

"Java" generally refers to a combination of three things: the Java programming language (a high-level, object-oriented programming language); the Java Virtual Machine (a high-performance virtual machine (JVM) that executes byte codes on a specific computing platform); and the Java platform, a JVM running compiled Java byte codes, usually calling on a set of standard libraries such as those provided by Java Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition. 

It uses object oriented programming techniques, which enable substantial code reuse. One of the important environment in which Java is found is web-based applications development. In this course, it is intended to Start beginning programmers out on the track to professional-level programming and then move on to areas like Applets, Swing, GUI programming, JDBC, Servlets, and JSP.

Objectives :

The course aims to impart Java programming knowledge and skills for developing web-based applications using object-oriented approach and by using Java technologies mentioned above.

·     Java Programming Environment; Statements, Variable, Types and values; Methods and Flow Control; Arrays; Data Structures ; Objects; Classes

·     JFC, AWT, Swing,

·     Applets

·     Event Handling

·     JDBC

·     Servlets

·     JSP

·     Extensive Hands-on approach to all above
