P368 – PROGRAMME ON SERVICE ORIENTED ARCHITECTURE

(COMPANY SPECIFIC PROGRAMME FOR L.I.C. OF INDIA)

Background:

For long, business organizations have been looking for an IT architecture that can provide them flexibility, agility, easy maintainability and freedom to operate their different services on different platforms. They also wanted such architecture that can quickly respond to the changing needs. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) does exactly the same. Various services with reusable components are loosely coupled so that individually they can work on different technical platforms and at the same time they can talk with each other in mutually understandable language.

Implementing SOA is like a dieting and exercise plan which brings agility, flexibility, fast responsiveness to changing needs etc. It cuts down on extra calories by bringing down the number of service components to significantly smaller number of reusable services. It makes the maintenance easier. Adoption of new technology becomes faster.

Objective:

At the end of the program, the participants will be able to:

  • Use the concept of granularity, encapsulation and reusability in designing services,

  •  Understand the concept of Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) to the extent of writing pseudo codes,

  •  Draw clear roadmap to move at higher level of maturity in SOA implementation,

  •  Take care of security concerns right at the design stage itself,

  • Use the concept of Service Life Cycle Management in SOA implementation.
