P376 – PROGRAMME ON ORACLE 10g DBA 

(COMPANY SPECIFIC PROGRAMME FOR THE NEW INDIA ASSURANCE CO.LTD.)

 

Background:

 

This program enables participants to gain a conceptual understanding of the Oracle database architecture and how its components work and interact with one another. The participant will learn how to create an operational database and properly manage the various structures in an effective and efficient manner including performance monitoring, database security, user management, and backup/recovery techniques.

 

Objectives:

 

The participant also will learn salient aspects of Oracle Database 10g such as user and data management. The basic aspects of database management such as database integrity constraints, transferring data, and defining tables will be discussed at length.  The participant also will learn about Database Security. This program will help the participant to understand the benefits of database auditing and monitoring. It also covers Database Listeners and Services. The concept of shared and dedicated servers is also covered. After attending this programme, the learners would be able to tune the system for best performance by configuring automatic alerts and thresholds.

Participants’ Profile: Officers working with database at Regional Offices and Head Office. The participant must have knowledge of  SQL*PLUS and PL/SQL.
