P381 - PROGRAMME ON DATA MANAGEMENT FOR GENISYS IMPLEMENTERS / I.T. OFFICERS (COMPANY
SPECIFIC PROGRAMME FOR UNITED INDIA INSURANCE CO. LTD.) Background:
United India Insurance Co. is at present using Client-Server environment for their day-today business transactions and consolidating the day-today business transactions through GEM server for business decision support. The current database platform is Oracle. Now, the company is in the process of migrating from Client-Server to Centralized Database System by implementing Core Insurance, using Microsoft technology. Hence, it is necessary for the users to know how to retrieve the data from Oracle database using Structured Query Language. Since Decision Support System is based on GEM, the users should know how to fetch the data in desired form, using Oracle Discoverer (Business Intelligence). It is also necessary for the users to know the migration of Oracle database to Microsoft platform through Open Database Connectivity (ODBC).
