| At the NIA Governing Board meeting dated 6th June 2008, it was approved to create the post of Chair Professor – Risk Management in the Academy. The academy has also two other Chair positions, which are filled up from time to time – one in General Insurance and the other in Life Insurance. The General Insurance Vacancy is also in search process. The academy is also in constant search for academic enthusiasts in all three areas. Vacancy is not a constraint for right academic entrepreneur. |

| A search committee has been formed by the Director for the purpose of continuous search. |

| This Chair Professor position is meant for an eminent person in the relevant field. In case of need, selection of Chair Professor can be made from outside the insurance industry or at levels from insurance industry inclusive of senior working executives; though primary search is for top executives, who recently retired from Insurance Industry and are academically active being within age of 63. Other conditions remaining the same the regular in-service stream of executives will be considered at par with retired executives of the respective streams for the purpose of such selection. The positions are fixed for a period of two years but for risk management position, longer period can be considered depending on age profile of the nominee and in any case the maximum age limit upto which retired executives can be deployed by the Academy will be 65 years. The salary of the Chair Professors will be related to the grade of Professor of the Academy subject to maximum salary payable at the top-level salary of Professors, which are comparable to UGC scale of pay in vogue. The selected incumbent shall take care of compliance of terms and conditions of his/her previous employment/s as applicable on the date of joining NIA, which are relevant to this employment as Chair Professor. |

| The nominations are invited by the Academy so as to reach the Coordinator of the Search Committee - Dr. Prathap Oburai , Director, National Insurance Academy. The Committee reserves the right to consider any eminent person with necessary qualifications and experience as aforesaid even outside nominations. Self-nomination is also welcome. Nominations will be received till the positions are filled up by the Search Committee. The Search Committee reserves the right to accept or not to accept any nominations. The indicated cut off date for receipt of nominations may be as and when selection is completed but the selection may be made earlier or later depending on receipt of adequate nominations. |
