Dr. Prathap Oburai

 Dr. Prathap Oburai is currently the Director, National Insurance Academy, Pune. Prior to joining NIA, he was a faculty member of the Marketing area at IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore.
Dr. Oburai is a visiting Professor at Essec Business School of Paris; Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, Malaysia; Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines; MICA, India and NID, India. Dr. Oburai is a regular visitor to Tianjin University in China.

Dr. Oburai, who believes in the pursuit of scholarship rooted in practice and application, has several years of managerial experience in the corporate sector.

Research and Publications:

Dr. Oburai, who has to his credit several research papers and publications, presented research work at several major European and Indian conferences, and has published in journals, and in leading books such as The Encyclopedia of Marketing and The Marketing Book. Dr. Oburai has the distinction of publishing both in the Encyclopedia of Marketing as well the Marketing Book
The UK Academy of Marketing has awarded in 2008 a best paper prize for his methodologically pathbreaking conference research paper on corporate branding and image.

Ph.D. Teaching / Examination:

| Dr. Oburai is a keen contributor to the Ph.D. programmes in India and elsewhere. Has taught doctoral level courses on marketing theory, advanced marketing seminar, and research methods and modelling courses in IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and MMU of Malaysia. He was External Examiner for the DBA Programme of the University of Newcastle, Australia. |
